Description

Rolls in same order from a list of Hocus-pocus only skills at first, such as Class Change being the second roll. The skills level affects the individual chance of a roll to succeed for the Hocus-pocus only skills. If all these rolls fail, a random skill except for Hocus-pocus only skills will be picked with minor exceptions such as Alchemist Skills, Quest skills or Ensemble Songs.

Each cast consumes 2 Yellow Gemstones regardless of skill level. If the caster is equipped with the Mistress Card or is benefiting from the Into the Abyss skill, Hocus-pocus will still require 1 Yellow Gemstone.

Information

  • The level of Hocus-Pocus affects only the chance of Hocus-pocus only skills.
  • Level 9 Hocus-Pocus has the highest chance to cast Class Change at 0.342125% (when taking Monocell into account)
  • Arcadia uses the official behavior with a buff to the rate of Class Change, any public athena-based emulator will differ strongly.

Hocus-pocus only Skills

  • Monocell: roll strictly monotonous increasing, with exception of Level 6 which has a lower roll than Level 5.
  • Class Change: 0% chance for Level 1 to Level 4. roll monotonous increasing. Level 9 is most optimal.
  • Summon Monster: roll strictly monotonous increasing
  • Reverse Orcish: 0% chance for level 1 to Level 7. From level 8 on roll is strictly monotonous increasing
  • Grim Reaper: roll strictly monotonous increasing
  • Beastly Hypnosis / Taming Monster: roll strictly monotonous increasing. Max level is most optimal.
  • Questioning: roll strictly monotonous decreasing. 0% from Level 6 on.
  • Gravity: 0% chance from Level 1 to 7. From level 8 on roll is strictly monotonous increasing.
  • Suicide: 0% chance from Level 1 to 7. From level 8 on roll is strictly monotonous increasing.
  • Rejuvination / Full Recovery: 0% chance from Level 1 to 6. From level 7 on roll is strictly monotonous increasing.
  • Coma: 0% chance from Level 1 to 4. From level 5 on roll is strictly monotonous increasing.

Hocus-pocus Skill Information

Beastly Hypnosis

Tame a monster like if a taming item was used on it. Only works on monsters that can become pets. This skill shows up as "????" in game prior to targeting it on a monster.

Class Change

Used on a monster. The monster then turns into a random MVP. If used on a mini boss, the boss will not spawn again until the created MVP is killed. These MVPs, like regular MVPs, are considered Free for All. This skill shows up as "????" in game prior to targeting it on a monster.

  • When casting Hocus, there is a 0.342125% chance for Class Change to happen.
  • On average, it costs 295 yellow gemstones for Class Change to happen (if Hocus only costed 1 yellow gemstone).

Coma

Automatically used on yourself - your HP and SP drop down to 1.

Gold Digger

Steals Zeny from a monster like a Rogue's Mug. 100% chance of success.

Grampus Morph

Makes caster's head become an orc head.

Gravity

Grim Reaper

Used on a monster. The monster dies instantly without giving exp or loot. Cannot be used on boss monsters. This skill shows up as "????" in game prior to targeting it on a monster.

Leveling

Gives the caster 10% base EXP. It's always 10%, base level does not matter. If done while inside Bard/Dancer's Mr. Kim A Rich Man, EXP is increased.

Mono Cell

Used on a monster. The monster turns into a Poring. If used on a mini boss, the boss will not spawn again until this Poring is killed. Cannot be used on boss monsters. This skill shows up as "????" in game prior to targeting it on a monster.

Monster Chant

Just like a Dead Branch - summons a random monster. Monsters summoned via Hocus-pocus are considered Free for All.

Questioning

Does the /? emote.

Rejuvenation

Restores HP and SP back to full.

Suicide

Automatically used on yourself - instant death.
