Magician Leveling

This article is a guide on where and how to level Magicians and High Magicians

Early Leveling

Leveling as a Magician in Arcadia is easy and cheap because of its ranged attacks and not necessity of buying expensive gear to give a lot of damage.

If you need to check the recommended build for Magicians, visit the Magician page.

Spore

10-24

The Spores are the most common monsters to kill for a variety of classes in the beginning of the game. They are easily beaten using the Lightning Bolt skill, and give Strawberry, which can give you a good zeny for the early game. One thing I suggest is, while in this phase, increase the maximum as you can from the spell I mentioned while you're a magician and then reset skill at the Hypnotist, that is possible until Base Level 40. If you are a High Magician, you can keep casting the spell and then running from the monsters until you get enough damage to kill them.

Wolves

24-40

The Wolves are also easy monsters to kill, and there are a lot of them in the recommended map. When you get a good level of fire bolt, you'll easily kill them.

If you are a high magician and need the job points to focus on Magic Wall (in other words, will keep with level 4 only of this spell), you can do the same strategy from the Spores: Cast the Fire Bolt and run away, until you get the desired level.

Geographers

40-65+

The Geographers give a lot of EXP, a lot of JOB, being one of the favorite spots for leveling as a magician. There are no hostile mobs in this map beside the geographer itself, but it doesn't move, being an easy target for killing. But be careful: if you come too close from it, it'll hit you, and it hits hard!

If you already have a high magician and have low Fire Bolt level, I suggest going with a Healer to help you with Blessing (INT bonus) and Lex Aeterna (Double Damage on enemies).

With that, you're able to easily get your next class as a magician. Good luck in your journey!

Other Locations

Of course, there are way more locations than just the "normal" ones for leveling as a Magician. Below, you can check another locations if you're interested.

General Magician Road
Lv Range: 10~20 Map: [Prontera Field 6](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/map/view/?id=prt_fild06) Composition: Solo
Mobs to kill Initially use your Knife[3] or Cutter[3] to get a few points into Fire Bolt by killing Lunatics, Porings and Thief Bug Eggs. Once you get level 3 Fire Bolt, start killing Thief Bugs. Avoid big groups of Thief Bugs. Gradually move towards the northern exit to proceed onto Mandragoras (see below).

  • [Poring](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/monster/view/?id=1002)

Lv Range: 20~35 Map: [Prontera Field 2](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/map/view/?id=prt_fild02) Composition: Solo
Mobs to kill Mandragoras drop Stem that sells very high to players. Mandragora Card is also in great demand. Use Fire Bolt against them. Invest in a high level Fire Bolt to later move on to Flora and Geographers.

Lv Range: 20~35 Map: [Morocc Field 6](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/map/view/?id=moc_fild06) Composition: Solo or Party
Mobs to kill Mukas have a fantastic EXP to HP ratio while providing decent Zeny by selling Cactus Needles and Empty Bottles to players. If you have a low level Fire Bolt or lack Intelligence, hit and run tactics will work. You can put 1 or 2 points into Cold Bolt to quickly dispose Drops and Baby Desert Wolves for their cards, Empty Bottles and Oranges. If you have a high level Fire Wall you can engage Dragon Fly if you are careful. Disperse its Chon Chons first with Fire Wall and then lead it into Vertical Fire Walls while sustaining yourself with Novice Potions. There is a high chance for Clip[1] and potentially a Sweet Gent both you can sell or keep for later. If you lack Fire Wall you should avoid Dragon Fly.

Mobs to kill Wolves have a great Exp to HP ratio but, at earlier levels you may need to employ hit and run tactics. Snakes will serve as supplementary exp while both Mobs will drop Strawberry which can be sold to players. You can continue killing Fabres and Pupas for a chance at their rares. Although Wolves will still provide Mantle[1] that may be sold to others or kept for later. Avoid Vagabond Wolf.

Mobs to kill There are 3 maps with some small differences but all three will have Geographers and Metalings. Metalings provide great supplementary Exp due to their low HP but your main target are Geographers as they are stationary. Fire Bolt will be your bread and butter but you may only want to engage Geographers if you have at least 55 Intelligence to make it worthwhile. Geographers sometimes may prove to be problematic as they can Heal each other. You should either find isolated targets as at earlier levels, even a pair of Geographers will out sustain you. If you have Fire Wall you may opt to knock away nearby Geographers out of Healing range or if you have level 10 Frost Diver you can freeze them instead. Always be careful of Geographers hidden under bushes or trees.

Floras will only be found on Einbroch Field 7 and will provide supplementary Exp while dropping Stem and a chance of their card. Einbroch Field 7 has the lowest Geographer density of the 3 maps and thus is less suitable for higher level Magicians. Avoid Ungoliant. Einbroch Field 3 and 4 both have good Geographer density but in different ways. Einbroch Field 3 has 5 instant spawn Geographers on a small island but may be harder when all the spawns are clumped or there is competition. While Einbroch Field 4 has the highest spawn but may require more walking.

Lv Range: 30~70 Map: [Luoyang Field 1](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/map/view/?id=lou_fild01) Composition: Solo or Party
Mobs to kill Mi Gaos offer good Exp and are easy to kill with a combination of Fire Wall and Fire Bolt but, their drops have little to be desired. Due to their slow speed they are a great way to practice Vertical Fire Wall. If you find a mob first round them up with level 1 Fire Bolt, lead them into a Vertical Fire Wall and use [Fire Ball](Fire_Ball.md) to clear up. Mantis at earlier levels will require both Fire Wall and a low level Fire Bolt to kill. However, at 75 Intelligence a Vertical Fire Wall will be enough to kill a Mantis while at 80 - 85 Intelligence a normal Fire Wall will usually work. A mob of Mantis should be dispersed with Vertical Fire Wall. Despite being more of a nuisance Mantis Cards have decent value. In the case of a party you may want to start targeting other Mobs to supplement Exp and a chance for their cards, Pike[4], Coat[1] and Poo Poo Hat.

Lv Range: 55~80 Map: [Glast Heim Prison 1](https://cp.arcadia-online.org/map/view/?id=gl_prison) Composition: Solo or Party
Mobs to kill Skelton Prisoners and Zombies Prisoners both provide great Exp. Both are quick to kill even at low levels with a Vertical Fire Wall due to their slow speed (easy mobbing) and Undead Property, preventing knockback making each Fire Wall deal potentially 3500% Magic Attack. At lower levels 1 Diagonal Fire Wall will usually kill but the easier to execute Vertical Fire Wall will take at least 2. However, if you have gotten level 9 - 10 Soul Strike it will provides a great finisher.

Hunter Flies will often Teleport onto you and you may need to Fly Wing away especially at lower levels. Otherwise plant a quick Fire Wall and finish it off with Fire Bolt. Whispers can be dealt in the same manner but are also susceptible to level 10 Frost Diver and level 9 – 10 Soul Strike. Otherwise be careful as they can use Snap to bypass your Fire Wall. There area few good drops here including Formal Suit[1], Elunium, Whisper Card and Hunter fly Card. Avoid Zealotus.
