Overview

A Young Scholar at the East Library of Prontera is having trouble with his research. Maybe your adventure knowledge can come to his aid and uncover the secret behind our current ruler, King Grenholm Von Gaebolg.

Discovering the Past

  1. Go to the prontera library (prontera 192, 267). Talk to the Young Scholar (prt_in 158, 66) and offer to help him.

  2. Ask the Library Girl (prt_in 175, 50) about the previous rulers. She tells you where to find a book about this topic.

  3. Find the Encyclopedia (prt_in 174, 66) at the top right corner of the library next to the Librarian.

  4. Speak again to the Young Scholar. Since some pages are missing, he asks you to talk to the Library Girl once more.

  5. The Libraby Girl suggests looking in the Juno Library.
    Tell the Young Scholar, that you will go to look for a book without pages missing.

  6. Go to the Juno Library (yuno 341, 203). After hours of searching you find the Encyclopedia (yuno_in04 117, 7) in the first room on the right side.

  7. Since the pages of this book are missing too, speak to the Historian next to the Encyclopdia until he suggests you should find Mimir.

  8. In a house east of the Yuno plaza (yuno 218, 181) you'll find the Wise Sage Mimir. He will send you to the past to see yourself what happened during that time.

  9. You're being teleported to a room where an Unknown Guy is waiting for you. He asks you to go to the Assassin's Pub in Morocc to gather information about the royal assassination atempt.

  10. At the Assassin's Pub (moc_vilg02 33, 72) speak with Enigma (moc_intr04 127, 144).

    • I have a job request
    • I need someone killed
    • Top notch?
    • I see. But I don't have that much

  11. Return to the Unknown Guy and tell him, that the assassin's guild charge 5,000,000,000 zeny for a job.

  12. He narrows down the culprit to 4 options. Start to investigate all of the suspects.

    About the King

  13. You are being sent to a place where an execution takes place.

  14. Speak to the Lady (ordeal_3-1 155, 139) and witness the execution. Head back to the Unknown Guy and leave.

    About the Leowenburgs

  15. Travel to the northern half of Prontera and enter the Leowensburg's house (prt_vilg02 153, 50) located in the southeast corner and speak to the Ordinary-Looking Man (prt_intr02 22, 86). After that, return to the Unknown Man.

    About the Richards

  16. Bring 30 604.png Dead Branch to the Unknown Guy and leave Prontera through the north exit to reach the castle map.
    Visit all four baracks in every corner inside the walls and speak to every Off Duty Gard.

  17. Enter Prontera Castle (prt_vilg00 100, 121) and you'll be brought into the General's office. During the waiting time inspect the Banner, the Table and then the Weapon Rack.

  18. After reporting to Sir Richard, you'll get 10,000 Zeny as a reward.

  19. Return to the Unknown Guy.

    About the Walters

  20. Go back to Prontera Castle and you will be brought into a room. On the table is a map of the castle. This can help you with navigating.

  21. On the way to the East Tower you hear someone screaming. Prince Ronald is getting lectured by his scholar.

  22. Continue your way to the East Tower to Lady Verona's chamber (prt_cstl00 59, 37). She dictates you a letter to her sister, use the Pen & Paper. Write exactly what she says.

    Dear Richelle,

    How could a princess like you attend the execution earlier?

    To witness a peasant beheading is such a barbaric act for us Walters!

    If you were bored,

    you should have joined your dear sister at the royal party!

    I can introduce more princes to you, except my Lord Grenholm.

  23. Next, head to the West Tower. Before taking the stairs, prepare some tea. There is a note in the cupboard (prt_cstl00 104, 46) on how to brew it.

    • Use full boil water
    • Use the water to Preheat teapot
    • Pour the water to The tea cup
    • Follow by discarding The water in teapot and cup
    • Take 1 teaspoon amount of tea leaves
    • Steep the tea for 5 minutes
    • Next Put strainer on tea cup
    • And then Pour the tea

  24. Take the stairs to Princess Richelle's chamber (prt_cstl00 19, 37). You immediately get a letter for Princess Verona and new tea leaves.

  25. Back at the cupboard, make tea and bring it to Princess Verona in the East Tower. She will dictate another letter for her sister and will send you back with new tea leaves.

  26. While making new tea for Princess Richelle you find a letter from Jack in the cupboard.

  27. Go to Princess Richelle and get a new letter and new tea leaves.

  28. Make tea at the cupboard and go back to Princess Verona.

  29. She will dictate a letter again, you get tea leaves again, head back to Princess Richelle again, you already know the drill.

  30. Cupboard, tea and back to Princess Richelle.

  31. Shortly after delivering the tea and the letter, you run out of the room after one of Princess Richelle's servants.

  32. Head immediately back to Princess Verona. Take her order and go to the Archive.

  33. Speak with the Kafra Employee (prt_cstl00 28, 98) who will grant you access.

  34. In the Archive on the left side you find a long-stick-like figure. With it you can reach under the first sofa and get the letter, that is hidden there.

  35. Return to the Unknown Guy and report what you found out.

  36. After reviewing all your information, you're sure the cuplrit must be The Richards.

  37. The Unknown Guy asks you to check on Lord Grenholm, who lives in Southern Prontera. However, as soon as you step outside, you are knocked down and find yourself in the Arena.

  38. You have to fight some weak monsters, before the Unknown Guy saves you.

  39. You'll receive a Bravery Badge in order to meet the king.
    Upstairs, behind the throne room you'll find the sick king (prt_cstl00 176, 60), lying in his bed.

  40. Try to talk to him, and Sir Richard will appear, attempting to arrest you. But he ends up being arrested himself.

  41. You'll be send to the Chancellor and he will reward you for all your deeds.
